Great accommodations with fun atmosphere. The properties that are in close proximity were mildly concerning and the rental needs one extra blanket available for the extra cold folks out there but otherwise super nice place. Loved the bathroom, kitchen and artwork. The master bed and couch were both super comfy which is nice when you’re away from home! Thanks for your availability!!
— Lis, Tarboro, NCDownton Annie is in a great location for all activities downtown. You can walk just about anywhere in 10-15 minutes. The apartment is in the city so you don’t get that mountain feeling. If you are not used to the city atmosphere you may be disheartened by the homeless shelter across the street. The inside of the apartment is well appointed and very comfortable. Although there is off street parking it is very limited and won’t accommodate anything bigger than a small SUV.
— Rich H., Mobile, ALThis is a really great apartment– spotlessly clean, very comfortable, interestingly decorated with new appliances, towels and bedding. It’s in a great location in that you can easily walk downtown to enjoy all that the city has to offer, even though the road it’s on isn’t much to look at with all the parking lots and the homeless facility. Overall, though, I would definitely recommend staying here.
— Outdoors mom, Clarence Center, NYGiven the skyrocketing prices for hotels in the downtown Asheville area, I was ecstatic to find Downton Annie to be reasonable. The building is super nice and in my opinion in a great location; 10 minute walk to the hubbub of downtown but far enough out of the way as to not be in the thick of it. Our unit #1 was beautifully decorated and included a lot of high-end amenities. Only complaint was the TV didn’t include basic cable. I don’t usually watch TV but it was big SEC football weekend. I will definitely book Downton Annie again.
— Kerry T.We enjoyed a lovely long weekend in Asheville while staying at Downtown Annie #2. I am in property management and as such my standards are high. Often when we travel, I am disappointed in our accommodations. I was thrilled with the condition of this flat. We found the unit clean and in excellent condition. The bedding is comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked. You could cook for a week in this kitchen. We walked to downtown for dinner every evening. The walk is easy and short. The location of the property is on the edge of town. It is not on a pretty street, nor is the view pleasant. However, we felt the condition and comfort of the property more than made up for this fact. We kept the curtains drawn and would have preferred window treatments that allowed privacy while still affording good light. We found Sarah professional and responsive. We will contact her in the future when seeking accommodations in Asheville.
— Christy J.We came to Asheville to see a show at the ExploreAsheville Arena. Everything was within walking distance to this very stylish, well outfitted, comfortable, and spacious apartment. We parked our car on Friday afternoon and didn’t move it until Sunday morning. Do check out Hopey’s Grocery & Tap Room. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet, close to everything home away from home.
— Ragan S.Walking distance to mostly everything downtown, really clean and beautiful little apartment. We had were couples staying for a conference in town and we loved this place. Comfy beds and gorgeous kitchen. Two parking spots included are a nice plus.
— Sarah, Raleigh, NCGreat location, beautiful apartment and very attentive hosts! Would highly recommend!
— Lindsay, Wilmington, DEThe check-in process was nice because we didn’t need to grab keys from anyone; both of the doors have the keypad which proved very convenient. This apartment was very clean and modern and included a good set of kitchen equipment. It’s a 10 minute walk to the main part of downtown Asheville and seems to be in a fairly decent location.
— Austin S.Very nice apartment. Every detail has been carefully thought out. Very good location. We walked to the restaurants every night.
— Anonymous, Indianapolis, INThe owners were very accessible. They were easy to get in touch with and quick to respond with answers to our questions. The apartment is absolutely adorable. Lots of room for 4 people. The beds and linens were very comfortable and upscale. Great for long term or short term stay. The most important thing about this unit was its cleanliness! Absolutely spotless! The only drawback was that it wasn’t in walking distance to downtown, but it was only a five dollar uber ride so that wasn’t a huge deal for us.
— Shannon S.This apartment is as lovely – very well decorated and equipped with everything you could need! We especially liked the location. It’s in a quiet part of town, away from the bars and restaurants yet a quick and easy walk to the middle of downtown. Also conveniently close to the highway to hop on and off. The owners have thought of everything. Lots of room, privacy and comfortable beds. Seems newly renovated/decorated. The owner/manager is extremely easy to work with and responsive. We would definitely return.
— Pattie S.Downton Annie was a great experience for my sister and myself. It was our first time to Asheville and the location was central to everything. This apartment itself is beautifully decorated, very clean and comfortable. From the down pillows, comfortable bed/bedding to a full working kitchen, everything we would have wanted was in place and more. Having a parking space was a bonus seeing that you can walk to most everything you would want to see in downtown Asheville.
— Jodie G.This is a great rental! Right off the beaten path in Asheville. The accommodations are superb with everything imaginable you need. The beds and towels are soft and fluffy. Great break from our previous stays at the Hotel Indigo. Love having a kitchen to make coffee and have late afternoon snacks prior to going to downtown. There is a homeless facility on the street where they seem to serve meals and may have light housing. It is very well monitored with police presence. The walking distance to the center of downtown with restaurants and shops is only about .4 miles. If you don’t want to walk you can easily take UBER. I would definitely recommend this apartment. We used it for a girls weekend. Had a blast! Will be back next year!!
— Yogamama, Atlanta, GABeautifully designed charming flat in an almost downtown location. Jeremy and Sarah have thought of everything when it comes to this lovely 2 BR place in Asheville. Both the renovation and service are thoughtfully done. Neat as a pin, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Enjoy!
— Mary, Washington, DCWe loved staying here. It was a convenient walk to restaurants and breweries, which was important to us. Everything was clean, tidy, and comfortable, and we would definitely stay here again.
— AnonymousBeautifully maintained and updated flat, walking distance to the heart of downtown Asheville. Loved it! Will definitely stay again!
— Jessica R.We really enjoyed our stay!! Wish there was another bathroom but the beds were great and that is the most important thing to me!!!
— Laura G.The apartment was spacious and beautiful and had fabulous designer touches, including upgraded kitchen appliances and recessed lighting everywhere. The beds were comfortable and the apartment was spotless.
We had no complaints at all, except for the location, which was dicey. That’s because of a Homeless facility (run by Homeward Bound) across the street. Other than that, the place is a winner.
— BB, MarylandThis apartment was fabulous for our family of 4 (two grown daughters)! We were in Asheville to celebrate a birthday and Mother’s Day. Walking distance from downtown and an inexpensive Uber ride as well. Across from a homeless shelter, but this was not a problem at all! Very quiet. Two notes: 1) Parking is tight, but our KIA Sorento fit fine, 2) the two upstairs apartments have stair access only, so if you have any mobility issues, reserve a bottom floor apartment. We would definitely stay here again and totally recommend it! Jeremy (the host) was very helpful when I asked for recommendations for area restaurants and activities!
— Mary Helen, Auburn, ALWe had never been to Asheville before and we had a blast – hiking, river floats, art shopping, beer tasting – the city is fantastic!
The condo was a perfect set up – the space is cool and hip with plenty of amenities. We had 4 guests (2 couples) with no problem for space at all. The condo is easily walkable to downtown and lots of cool restaurants and bars. The reservationist was very helpful with our questions, both about the condo and Asheville. Five stars, and would definitely go back!
— Kyle B.Downton Annie 3 is a lovely, sparkling clean, convenient apartment. It is on the second floor of a cool building that has been meticulously renovated. Everything is perfect–from the new appliances to the comfortable bed and linens. Free parking is nice, as well. The apartment is less than a 10 minute walk to downtown and Tupelo Honey, one of my favorite restaurants. We walked all over downtown and then went back to the apartment each day to a lovely, clean home. Service and communication were great, as well. Highly recommend!
— UNCAlum, Raleigh, NCFantastic appliances with clean modern look. Easy access to downtown Asheville (6 blocks?). Very clear and helpful instructions. Would definitely recommend and stay again!
— Roger K.This apartment is decorated and equipped as well as any you will find on VRBO. Everything was new and tasteful done, (very contemporary/Hip) and in immaculate condition. The king sized bed was comfortable and the sheets and towels were all brand new. The kitchen has everything you need and more, all the appliances, cups glasses and silverware were more upscaled than we expected. The owner had even left us fresh ground coffee sugar, and chocolate, he was very responsive and hands on.
The only complaint we had was a concert taking place across the parking lot at a new amphitheater, if we were into the music it might have been cool. The neighborhood is edgy and we had no problems driving or walking to downtown Asheville shopping and restaurants, (about a 10 minute walk or 5 minute drive).
— David S.The Downton Annie apartment delivered on everything promised. It’s well located and well appointed. The exterior is also nicely landscaped and immaculately kept. The beds are comfortable with lots of quality pillows. Touches like that make all the difference. Also, the information provided when you get there does not leave any questions unanswered. The information is thorough and the directions are clear. The units are not very sound proof, but the other guests were not too noisy. My only complaint is that the hot and cold are reversed on the shower faucet. It’s a huge water waster the first time you use it. Coming from drought stricken CA, I hated seeing all that water go down the drain for nothing. Maybe they will fix that… If you’re looking for a great place to stay in Asheville, I recommend Downton Annie. Lastly, the customer service is spot on. Inquiries are answered right away and my cleaning deposit was credited back a week after my stay. You really can’t go wrong here. You could pay a lot more to stay in a hotel, but there’s nothing like having the conveniences that come with a unit like this. Kitchen, laundry, parking and a living space. Yay!
— Deb K.We really enjoyed our stay at the downtown Annie. Being walking distance from a lot of the Asheville breweries was a huge bonus. The apartment was very clean and well put together. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone.
— Brett F., RaleighCame into town for a “bro-cation”. Downton Annie is super clean, super modern, fully updated, great geographic location right in Downtown Asheville. Check in was straightforward and easy. We would absolutely stay here again.
— Brandon, Louisville, COThe apartment was clean and organized. Well stocked kitchen and nice appliances. Beds were comfortable. Very short walk to lots of restaurants and breweries in downtown Asheville. As stated by others, the only thing of note is that it is next to a homeless community outreach center so there is quite an interesting variety of individuals coming and going during daytime hours. However we had no issues and walked to downtown every evening.
— Melissa B.We used to live in Asheville 20 years ago and were tired of staying in overpriced hotels as the “it factor” continues to grow for the city. Found this small but very well equipped two bedroom apartment and will be making it our permanent home when visiting from now on. One thing to note is that it is across from a homeless shelter but we never felt unsafe. Almost every corner in Asheville can feel like a homeless shelter from time to time so it wasn’t a big deal and we are used to it from living there before. Parking is very tight in their tiny lot so don’t bring your Suburban. Minor annoyance is lack of cable or satellite TV (not good if sports or news junkie) but TV did have smart hub so we could log into Netflix or Hulu or Amazon. Overall, a great find and no more than 15 minute walk to furthest points downtown.
— Todd F.You can’t beat the rate for the convenience this unit provides. We love to walk to all of the shops, breweries, and restaurants of downtown Asheville. Downtown Annie was PERFECT! Just far enough to be out of earshot of the “hustle and bustle” of downtown but an easy walk to all we enjoy about Asheville.
Every amenity (plus some) was available for our stay. From the Meyer’s hand soap, the shampoo/conditioner ALREADY in the shower in beautiful decanters, the black towels for make up removal, to the gorgeous furnishings and top of the line appliances and decor. The modern furnishings and kitchen are chic, clean, and comfortable. The mattresses are amazing! Please let me know the brand.
We have definitely “favorited” Downtown Annie #1. We hope to call on her hospitality again SOON!
— The Provins familyOutstanding. Will be back. Couples trip. Awesome beds, kitchen and decorations. Really up to date accommodations. No problems what so ever.
— James H.Nice place and great value–clean, contemporary, with comfortable beds and very walkable to downtown. Homeless shelter was active at certain periods of day but we had no issues and we fully support their mission.
— Karen, Chapel Hill, NCWe enjoyed staying in a place that was probably better than most hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Immaculate and each detail thought of. Will stay here next time!!
— Asheley R.Very spacious and great location
— Brenda C.We found the apartment to be exactly as represented by the photos: clean, cheerful and well-equipped. Location was convenient to downtown, both by foot (10 minutes) and car (5 minutes). Both the owner and the reservationists were very responsive and helpful.
However, some caveats: the neighbourhood is not a residential neighbourhood. The street contains two or three residences, parking lots, commercial buildings, a small church and the previously-mentioned social service agency. It can seem desolate at night. With respect to the agency, there were outside loudspeaker announcements for clients early in the morning (6:45 one morning, 7:00 on another) that were disruptive to the occupant of the middle bedroom. And, for some persons, the exterior steps to the second floor backdoor may be a concern.
— Barb M.Very Professionally put together. All needs met. And immaculate. We’ll be back. We had a vacation home that we rented so we are experienced to needs of renters. Great experience!
— Sue, Tampa, FLThe space in Downton Annie is very sufficient for 3-4 people. My wife especially liked the contemorary furnishings, the kitchen appliances, dishes, and cookware. For night life, the location is just four blocks from Pitchard Park, which is where the locals meet in a drum-circle every Friday evening (a very easy walk). From there, almost all the night life is in easy walking distance. The views out the front windows are toward a parking lot, a half-way house, a Church on the corner, and some of the downtown skyline. The views out the back windows and especially the back porch include the mountains off in the distance. I carried my barbell, abs carver, and workout mat and did my workouts just at the foot of the back porch stairs. I enjoyed the views from the back porch (carried my folding chair) while cooling down and surfing my iPhone. We enjoyed the stay and would do it again for sure.
